My Intro to PPC

So I have yet to complete my first full week at Sleeping Giant Media, due to Easter break. I have met a few colleagues and my team virtually. Everyone has been very friendly and welcoming. I have managed to settle in quite well and really enjoy the culture of the firm.

Work is slowly starting to pick up as well, and I had my first training session ‘Intro to PPC,’ on the 1st.

PPC

This was a great learning experience. As someone who is serious about having a career in digital marketing, I think its important to have a solid foundation and understanding of the different facets of digital marketing before deciding which area to specialise in. This would be my advice to anyone who is curious to learn what marketing involves.

Digital Marketing

Getting back to PPC. PPC is something that I had not experienced in my previous role, so I was really excited to learn what its all about.

Here’s what I learnt

  • The difference between SEO and PPC
  • How bids and auctions work
  • How to improve quality score
  • The different match types (broad match, broad match modifier, phrase match and exact match)
SEO vs PPC

From what I’ve learnt so far PPC seems more technical than SEO. So anyone who is good at or interested in data analysis would do well in PPC.

I hope this gives a bit of an overview into PPC.
